Meet Suzanne:
My major in college was Early Childhood Education redefined years later as a single mom and then foster mom. My journey brought me to places I never thought I would go (the Legislature, Police Department, leading support groups, advocacy for parents and children, “School of Hard Knocks”…). I have been blessed with a very blended family of seven children and a dear husband with great patience. Our journey together has not been without great sacrifices and what seemed to be insurmountable struggles. Meeting the intricate needs of our three foster/now-adopted children with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) became a career in itself. As parents, we had little support and even less credibility. It is my goal, through Advanced Parenting for Challenging Children, to make our family’s journey the road less traveled. To open more doors bringing support, awareness and above all: the tools for parenting challenging children into our community. Families can heal. Altogether, as a team, we can make a difference.
